The research programme Migration, Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Relations (MCDER) is part of The European Research Centre on Migration and Ethnic Relations (ERCOMER).

 

ERCOMER actively encourages, supports and promotes comparative research in the fields of international migration and ethnic relations within a European context.

There are three interrelated research themes:

  1. migration
  2. immigrants in host societies
  3. host societies’ responses to immigrants, ethnic minorities.

The research topics include acculturation, integration, multiculturalism, ethnic exclusionism, ethnic conflict, racism, and nationalism.
